Apple TV 4 Jailbreak on tvOS 10.1 with liberTV

Last few days, we had to know an important update of Apple TV 4 jailbreak by iOS expert Jonathan Levin. The jailbreak tool has been in beta version to make it more stable and fix the issues to publish for the public. Finally, the waiting is finished and Apple TV 4 jailbreak has been released to the public.

The latest tvOS jailbreak is known by the name of LiberTV and developed to support with tvOS 10.0 to tvOS 10.1. As we mentioned in the last week, the developers have taken the asset of the exploits that used to developer yalu iOS 10.2 jailbreak. Seemingly, most of the exploits used by Luca Todesco for yalu jailbreak are also appear in tvOS 10.1. That’s why they could make it possible soon.

Requisite for Apple TV 4 Jailbreak

  • An Apple TV 4 running tvOS 10.0 – 10.1
  • A computer running Windows, Linux or Mac
  • USB type-C cable which can be connected TV and computer
  • Cydia impactor and liberTV jailbreak application

How to Jailbreak Apple TV 4 with LiberTV

  • Connect your Apple TV 4 to your Mac, Linux or Windows computer using USB type-C cable
  • Download liberTV application on your PC/ Mac
  • Download Cydia impactor and then launch it
  • Make sure that Cydia impactor detects your Apple TV and drag and drop liberTV.ipa to impactor

  • Click on “Start” then you will be asked to enter your Apple ID and Password to continue
  • If you have turned on the two-step verification for your Apple ID account, log into Apple ID page and wait for an alternative password. Enter this specific password on impactor
  • After a while, Cydia impactor will automatically install the liberTV app on your PC. Once the progress complete, disconnect your Apple TV and connect it to your TV
  • You will see the liberTV app on your tvOS home screen, open it

  • Once you saw this window, select the options that you want to use for Apple TV 4 jailbreak
  • Then hit the “Do it!” button at the bottom

  • liberTV will start to jailbreak the device. After a short while, you will see a report that shows your device has successfully jailbroken

  • If the jailbreak procedure did not work perfectly, no need to worry, just jailbreak again
  • After the jailbreak app reports that Apple TV 4 jailbreak done, you’re free from the limitations of Apple

Remember that this method is also a semi-tethered jailbreak same as the yalu iOS 10.2  jailbreak. So, you need to reuse liberTV jailbreak after an every reboot of your device.
